The Melbourne Skyline

Anyone have any good suggestions for places to eat in Melbourne?

I would prefer somewhere around the main city area or other hot spots like St. Kilda.
(Please don't suggest somewhere in places like Geelong, even though it is FANTASTIC - I won't have access to a car there and don't have THAT much time to go sit in a train for 2 hours)
(Also, dowan all those veeeery expensive places - unless it is really THAT good)
(Oh, oh... and don't suggest Malaysian food places, k?)

(Man... that's quite a fair bit of conditions, huh?)

Anyway, would appreciate all the feedback I can get.
