This is such a super mini update (no photos too - sorry) but I am completely in love with the appetizer that came with my Tempura Set (RM 68++) last night.
*DROOL*
The Tempura Set itself was ok (not bad lah - crispy batter, 3 well sized prawns (which is unusually generous) and a good variety of vegs) but the appetizer blew me away - a rich, melt in your mouth, succulent slab of foie gras matched with the delicate flavour of the stewed white radish. PERFECTION. :) :)
(I think it's just about as good as it's equivalent at Zipangu)
I realise there are certain ethical issues regarding foie gras.... but it just tastes so good!! :(

ethical issues? then there's that artery clogging and fattening issue too :P
ReplyDeleteSay NO to torturing animals for food!
(that's as far as my public service announcements go, for this year.)
=)
to J:
ReplyDeleteIt has no impact to my arteries / body fat content at all because I can only afford to have a small slice of it every few years. :P

that's because the mizu chef/owner used to work at zipangu and he was the one who invented zipangu's signature foie gras + daikon dish.
