This addition to the Nero(teca/vivo...) family is located on the ground level of Plaza Perintis, just off the busy Jalan Semantan area:
It's simple from the outside, but the interior is nice - feels modern and airy, with lots of sunlight:
Of course there was the usual serving of free bread with a side of oil and vinegar:
We started off with one of the daily specials - the Spicy Prawn Salad (RM 35++)
Overall, it was ok. I liked the fresh prawns matched well with sweet chunks of apple and tart sun dried tomatoes... but I didn't really like the thousand island based dressing they put on it.
(I generally don't like thousand island - too rich)
In an attempt to eat healthier, we avoided the range of pizzas and pastas there and instead, shared the Baked Seabass with Wine sauce (RM 58++). Initially, I was not very impressed with the bunched up foil bundle slapped on a white plate:
Still, I ended up liking it - the tart sauce was rich without being overpowering and went well with the moist (albeit ever so slightly overcooked) fish:
(FAIL moment ahead *lol*)
After having such a healthy meal, we ended up indulging in a Tiramisu (RM 22++):
Overall it was ok, but a bit too sweet and creamy so it didn't score very well in my books...
(Still, it was alright - a classic end to an Italian meal)
Here's a warning though - parking during working hours is EXPENSIVE:
Can you imagine?: If you spend just 1 hour and 1 minute parked inside (since it's near impossible to find parking on the roadside) then you have to pay RM 9.10.
(That's a LOT)
This of course makes it a bit of a put off to go for lunch on a normal work day.... but if it's any comfort to you, there's a special lunch time loyalty card program going on at Nerofico where you can earn points towards getting a free meal.
(If I'm not wrong, you get "points" for every dollar you spend there, and when you collect enough points you can trade it in for vouchers/ free food)
So it's: Wide range of Italian food, modern ambience, friendly staff BUT some prices are definitely more on the expensive side....

I guess that's why the restaurant had to come up with the lunch loyalty card points thing to try to (in a way) negate the parking prices....
